being a mother: the quality of selfless giving

but still 

the quality of the sun 

will be to burn 

and emit light and warmth to all,

still the flower 

will spread its fragrance to one and all,

still the butterfly 

will dance in the air flying and flapping its wings,

unmindful of 

who or who not are watching,

who or who not are receiving and benefitting,

and who or who not are cursing in return...

but still the being who is blissful within,

everything she does is hers - 

that's just how she is,

for she doesn't know how else to be,

but just to give it all - this quality 

is only what she has,

for she feels for everyone and everything,

choiceless, without discretion - howsoever it may seem,

but she lives only in the joy of giving,

just the way a mother lives for her child,

and the mother earth opens herself to all life,

let she also be

what she truly is,

what she is best,

that when she bares her breast 

to feed and nourish her children,

let her not be threatened,

abused or isolated,

but be protected and treated with respect,

so that she can be herself!
