Brooding over a Foiled Fortune

In trying to break free
Of this pathetic state of existence,
I fall back again, choiceless,
Into the pathetic state of existence!

Where insecurity runs deep,
Loneliness reigns supreme,
Fulfilment feels scarce,
And appreciation is a glaring need!

Where memory is a trouble,
And every pulse is a pain,
The mind is not free
In a world shackled by chain!

In an uncontrollable urge for change
I stepped so deep into the fire of rain,
That now my perpetual hopelessness
Has started to stare at the void ahead!

And I tremble of the fear of change,
My vision shielded from the sun orange,
Letting the fateful acceptance seep
Through the veins of the dead heap!

Now freedom is a farce,
And salvation is a joke,
The air darkened like pitch
In a heart that coughs of smoke!

I try to wash myself clean
In the murky waters of the waterfall,
But whatever I touch gets stuck -
The sticky glue has engulfed us all!

The mind-wheels are frozen,
The madness that came in dozens,
That made gifts look like curse,
And curses feel like boons!

So discretion was so lost,
And clogged had got the vision,
Of a lamp so dimished and dull
By fear, hesitation, guilt and shame!

So I breathe the air that is tarred,
And I eat the fish that is charred,
And drink the water that is soiled,
Brooding over a fortune that is foiled!

Tamed

Those that were enslaved
Could not bear the liberty of the free
And hence did hatch a plot they sold
To tame the wild in a torturous mould.

The forces of fate,
Had their plans all drawn
With details and designs and more,
For dousing the flame of fortune yore.

Indeed a fortune it was
For those that were free,
Unrestricted and unchained,
That dreamt of a world unpained.

But, the lure of a life that
Had they not known before,
Brought 'em in into the turbulent fold,
Betraying the foretold wisdom old.
