of this man, make a mighty make

The decision to self-destruct -

Was it made in heaven,

or midst the mortal realm?

The proverbial phrase

laughs now at the foolishness

that then seemed real like flesh!

The shimmer of hope

now simmers and shivers,

brooding over and over and over.

This weariness, unending,

now seeks strength from

thy eternal sea of compassion!

For neither guilt nor pain,

neither sadness nor shame,

can bear the burn of infinite run!

No more for forgiveness, can pray;

no more for blame, can game play;

as ultimate growing awaits the shore!

So give not spoon, give not boon;

wish not trade, and wish not shade;

and of this man, make a mighty make!
